Anthony C.'s Story
Anthony C. DiDio, 64, of North Andover, passed away August 8, 2017 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital following a four year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Born in Lawrence to the late Angelo and Mary (Greco) DiDio, he was raised in Andover and later raised a family in North Andover. Anthony graduated from Austin Preparatory School, Merrimack College, and attended the University of Massachusetts Lowell for Grad School. Anthony was a civil engineer and worked closely with his father, who founded the Angelo C. DiDio Building and Realty, Inc. Company. In addition to running the family business, Anthony was a Structural Engineer for the State of Massachusetts. A favorite saying of Anthony's was; "I love my family and I love my work." He especially loved spending time with his family at their beach house in Salisbury and vacationing in Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Angelini) DiDio, children Marian, Angelo and Anthony DiDio Jr. as well as his sister Maria DePippo, niece, Mary DePippo and nephew, John DePippo.
Famliy and friends called on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA 01845.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Church in North Andover. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery also in North Andover.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215-5450.
Anthony's family would like to extend thanks and gratitude to the oncology staff at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Robert Schlossman, Emily Wade Scranton NP, and Shannon Antman went above and beyond to care for "Tony" on this journey. We are very grateful for the loving support of the Yawkey 7 staff.
