Constance's Story

NORTH ANDOVER: Constance "Connie" Kaufman, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2016, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, Mass.

Born on April 13, 1942, to Dr. Joseph and Aura (Citarella) Guerrera she was the eldest of five children. Connie was educated in Lawrence, Mass., and attended St Mary's grammar and high school. She graduated from Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass. She went on to teach elementary school at both the Oliver School and the Tarbox School Lawrence. She lived in Andover for many years, and became a travel agent before moving to Jupiter, Fla. Connie was a vibrant and charismatic individual, who enjoyed traveling, tennis and golf and was also an accomplished oil painter later in life. She loved life to the fullest and received the most joy from spending time with her beloved friends and family.

She was predeceased by her son, Randall "Randy" Jacob Kaufman, who passed away at the age of eight. She will be sadly missed by daughter, Shauna Holohan and her husband, Michael of Middleton, WIS.; and granddaughters, Ashley and Bridget Holahan; and daughter, Erin Cormier of Boston, Mass.; and granddaughters, Mackenzie, Leah and Caileigh Cormier. Connie also leaves her brother, Dr. Joseph Guerrera and wife, Ann of Andover, Mass.; brother, Richard Guerrera of Lawrence, Mass.; sister, Louisa Murdoch and husband, Randall of Hackensack, N.J.; and sister, Mia Guerrera and husband, Arthur McCabe of Andover, Mass. She also leaves seven nieces and a nephew, who adored her.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staffs at Ashland Farm in North Andover, Mass., Meadow View Center in North Reading, Mass., and the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, Mass., for the kindness, love and compassion shown, during this final year of her life.

Family and friends were invited to calling hours on Monday, January 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence Street, Andover. At the request of her family, funeral services are private. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01830, or Merrimack College at 315 Turnpike Street, North Andover, MA 01845. Connie will be buried at Temple Emanuel Cemetary beside her son Randy.
