ANDOVER: Craig James Carlson passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 15. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on October 14, 1954, to the late Annemarie and John Carlson. Craig was the brother of Lora Rizzuto and the late Bonnie Carlson. He was married to Ann Strauch on May 7, 1978. They moved to Massachusetts in 1982. Craig was an industrial designer and owner of Indepth Design. Craig kept himself busy by working, coaching when his children were younger, and, most recently, volunteering at The Senior Center, in the kitchen and doing medical transports. He never stayed idle, despite fighting pancreatic cancer for five years. Craig will be greatly missed by his wife, Ann; his son, JonLars; his daughter, Tristina Lawler and her husband, Matthew; his grandsons, Charlie and Patrick; his sister-in-law, Lis Wagner and her husband, Fred; his niece, Candice Mangan and her husband, Sean; and by grand-nephew, Carsten.
A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 360 South Main Street, Andover, on Saturday, October 24, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Craig’s name to the Sophia Gordon Cancer Center at Lahey Hospital, c/o Dr. Keith Stuart, 41 Mall Road, Burlington, MA 01805.
