Donald Danforth, 93, of Andover died August 17, 2017, at the Haverhill Hospice House. Born in Brewer, Maine, Donald was the son of the late Hazen and Hazel (Worth) Danforth. He was a pilot instructor during World War II in the Army Air Corps, a member of West Parish Church in Andover for 60 years, and a Boy Scout leader for many years. He worked at Bolton-Emerson Americas for 50 years as an inventor of pulp and paper machinery and after retirement he traveled the world as a consultant in the same field. He was an inspiration to all. He was predeceased by his wife, Emily (Littlefield) Danforth; his son, Dr. John Danforth; and his brother, Hazen Danforth. He is survived by his daughter, Ann Bagg of Granby, Colo.; and son, James McKenney of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; and grandchildren, Ryan, Stacey and Shawn Bagg and Donald and Maximilian McKenney.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the West Parish Church in Andover.
