ANDOVER : Gerald Druth, 82, of Andover, died on Sunday November 30, 2014, surrounded by his children and grandchildren at Tippett Hospice House in Needham, after a long illness.
Born and raised in Chicago, Mr. Druth attended the University of Illinois.
Mr. Druth had been a resident of Andover since 1972 and had been employed as a designer and salesman in the shoe industry. For the last 25 years, he owned and operated a shoe importing business, Druth Shoe Co., until his retirement a year ago.
Mr. Druth was a member of the Two Ten Association and Temple Emanuel of Andover.
Mr. Druth was married for over 50 years to the love of his life, Marcia (Rubin) Druth, who died in October 2010. He was the beloved father of Aileen and her husband, Kevin Peters and Steven and his wife, Tina Druth.
He was the cherished and proud grandfather of Daniel, Jacob, Hannah and Adam Peters, and Alec and Aliya Druth. He was also the loving brother of Judy Baer and the late Alfred Druth.
Services at Temple Emanuel, 7 Haggetts Pond Road, off Route 133, Andover, were Wednesday, December 3, at 1:30 p.m. Interment was in Shirat Hayam Cemetery, Beth El Section, Peabody. Condolence calls were made following the interment at the Peters residence until 8 p.m., and on Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Two-Ten Association Foundation, 1466 Main St., Waltham, MA 02451.
