ANDOVER: Herbert E. Kempton 73, of Andover, died of natural causes at his residence in Andover.
Mr. Kempton was born in Boston on April 11,1942 to the late Albert E. and Helen (Strmic) Kempton.
Mr. Kempton was a 1960 graduate of Andover High School and attended UMass Lowell with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed at AVCO Corporation, Data General, Digital Equipment Corporation and Raytheon. He was most recently retired.
Herb was a lifelong resident of Andover, and longtime summer resident of Wolfeboro, N.H.
His knowledge and continued admiration of science and technology were celebrated in his family. He loved fishing, boating and spending time with family and friends on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Herb is survived by his son, Paul A. Kempton and his wife, Eliza of Des Moines, Iowa, as well as one cherished granddaughter, Alanna S. Kempton. Also among his survivors are his sister, Peggy K. Mulliken and her husband, Peter of Franklin, as well as several nieces and nephews and longtime friend, Christine M. Wheeler.
A funeral service will be held on February 13, at 1 p.m. at the Dewhirst & Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence Street, Andover. Family and friends may call prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
