John "Jack"'s Story
John P. “Jack” Wait 85 of Andover died Tuesday, September 13,2016.
Jack was born in Stoneham on May 30,1931 to the late Charles and Gladys (Anderton)Wait.
He was a graduate of Punchard High School, Andover . Jack also was a graduate of Vermont Academy Prep School and received his degrees from Colgate University and Bentley College.
He was employed as a Certified Public Tax Accountant in Hartford Connecticut, Washington D.C. and with the accounting firm Plaza, Dixon and Russ in Lowell Mass. as a partner until his retirement in 1990. Jack also held private tax accounting services which included members at the Andover Senior Center. He was a member of the American Institute Of Certified Public Accountants. Jack was an avid golfer playing in local gold leagues.
A U.S. veteran, Jack served in the United States Army and served in Germany as field artillery specialist 3rd class.
He is survived by his nieces, Karen Yim, Debbie Curtin and Patti Bryant as well as his nephew, Charles Bryant and several other nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Bryant and his brothers, Robert and David Wait.
Graveside service with Military honors to be held Tuesday, October 11 at 10 a.m. in the Veterans section of Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover.
