New York, NY - Lois (Ehrenwerth) Frankenberger, born on 11/25/33 in Easton, Pa., died on 1/2/19 in New York City, where she lived in recent years to be close to her children, Andrew Frankenberger and Elizabeth Wildman.
Lois, Andy, and Betsy moved to Andover, in 1977, where they made lasting relationships and memories at South Elementary School, Phillips Academy, and Temple Emanuel, among other in-town institutions. During the three decades spent in Andover, Lois found purpose and passion in her work as the Director of Publicity for the Jordan Marsh department store chain and, later, at the Boston Harbor Hotel; Lois's lifelong interest in the arts would lead to her involvement with such local organizations as The American Textile History Museum and The Robert Frost Foundation as well. Lois was also a member of the Powwow River Poets and was published in a number of regional anthologies.
A graduate of Smith College, Lois was fiercely independent, liberal-minded, and free-spirited--a devoted mother and career woman, a role model for her children, colleagues, and countless others.
She is survived by Andy and his wife, Martha, and grandson Leo; Betsy and her grandchildren, Edna Berti and Emil; her sister, Shirley Schine-Carlin; niece Cathleen and nephew Eric Schine; and other extended family members and friends in Greater Boston, the New York Tri-State area, and beyond.

Lois was a fine poet and a valued early member of the Powow River Poets. We've missed her since she moved to NYC, for her beautiful work, her warmth and her friendship. Our hearts go out to her family over this sad loss.
