Patricia's Story

Patricia Ann Paris, a former resident of Andover, passed away in Corpus Christi on November 27, 2016, following a long illness.
he was born in Houston, Texas to Jack and Viola Lavin. A graduate from Yoakum High School, she continued her education at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas, where she majored in voice. It was there that she and Norman first met. They were married on May 29th, 1954 at St. Patrick’s Church in San Antonio. Norm and Pat moved to Andover, where they raised their family. In 1975, after 21 years, they returned to Texas and settled in Corpus Christi.
Patricia was blessed with a beautiful voice. She used her God-given talent to serve by singing in church choirs, beginning at St. Augustine’s church in Andover. She continued singing with the Corpus Christi Cathedral choir for many years, and finally with the choir at St. Pius X. The highlight of her singing career was singing with the Cathedral Choir for Pope John Paul II at a private audience in Rome, Italy.
Patricia was an active member of the Ladies Altar and Rosary Society at St. Pius X and also a member of The Sultanas of the Order of the Alhambra. She also volunteered for many years at Christus Spohn Hospital, Shoreline and was a Life member of the auxiliary. Patricia took great pride in her family and enjoyed her many friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Norman Paris and 10 children, John Paris, Daniel Paris, Michelle Paris, Marilyn Sheridan (Michael – deceased), Timothy Paris (Diana), Dr. Yvonne Paris (Arthur Scolari) of Longmeadow, Ted Paris (Jean) of Houston, Patrick Paris (Lori), of Spring, Norma Pye (Andy), of Coppell, Jennifer Mawyer (Joseph),of Phoenix, AZ. Patricia and Norman have 23 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She easily made friends with all whom she met over the years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be at Seaside Funeral Home at 3 p.m., Sunday, December 4, 2016 with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m., Monday, December 5, 2016 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
