Usha's Story

Usha Venkatesh, 63, of Andover, Mass., passed away on August 25, 2016, surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 1, 1953, in Chennai, India, to K. Varadarajan and V. Rama. She graduated from Stella Maris College in 1974 with a Master's in Social Work and a J.D from the Massachusetts School of Law in Andover in 2003.
She moved to the United States in 1975. She worked as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant in the Andover Public School System for over a decade and ran her own law practice from 2004 until her passing.
She had a deep love of music, non-fiction reading, culinary experimentation, travel and long chats with good friends and family. She had an easy sense of humor and an incredible ability to recite European history. Her passion was helping others and did so through her law practice focusing on immigration and mental health related issues.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Mudumbai; her two children, Mohini, of Washington, D.C., and Karthik of Newton, Mass.; and two grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters; a daughter-in-law; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
