William M.'s Story
William M. Cronan, a resident of Andover, passed away at the New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn on Sunday, May 21, 2017. He was 82 years old.
Born on November 9, 1934, in Jamaica Estates, N.Y., he was the beloved son of the late George and Ethel Grace (Roland) Cronan. Prior to his retirement, Bill was employed as a civil engineer for 51 years with the Federal Aviation Administration. Bill cherished time with his family and friends, whether it was enjoying the summer evenings on Kezar Lake, travelling to Europe, tennis club, or adventuring along the New England coast in his mostly reliable boat, the Wanderlust. He was also a long time member of ?the “Hickory Hawks” Ski Club based in an old railroad station in Glenn Jackson, N.H. where he met his wife, the late Judy (Mohla) Cronan, and made many life-long friends.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Gail Johnson and her husband, Haynes of Charleston, S.C., and his two sons, James Cronan of Seattle, Wash., and Robert Cronan and his wife, Lelia Pascale of Stoneham, and his grandson, Benjamin Cronan. Also, among his survivors are his two brothers, David Cronan and his wife Patricia of Florida, and Robert Cronan and his wife, Marilyn of New York. He also has a late brother, Donald Cronan, of New York.
The Cronan family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Ashland Farm who provided a caring home and many friendships for Bill.
