William M.'s Story
William M. “Bill” Rivel passed away on Tuesday, May 23 at Prescott House, North Andover. He was 81.
Born in Camden, N.J., he was the son of George and Sarah Rivel. He graduated from Palmyra High School, followed by the University of Pennsylvania School of Allied Medical Professions with a degree in physical therapy.
He proudly served two years as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. Following his military service, he returned to New Jersey where he was a resident for 55 years. Most recently, he lived at Brightview Senior Living, North Andover.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Rivel, and his two daughters, Diane Abel, of Andover, wife of Scott Abel, and Lisa Rivel, of Reston, Virginia. He has three grandchildren, Alexandra Abel, 17, Bradley Abel, 15, and Carter Abel, 11.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, May 27 at Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover.
