Malcolm "Eddie"'s Story
Malcolm E. "Eddie" Skinner, Jr. slipped away peacefully on December 17, 2016, at Merrimack Valley Hospice in Haverhill after a long illness. He was the beloved son of the late Mary Dobbie Skinner and Malcolm E. Skinner, Sr.
He was born at Lawrence General Hospital on October 31, 1943, and was a lifelong resident of Andover. He was educated in the Andover school system and was a graduate of Northeastern University. Upon graduation, he was employed as an electrical engineer at Raytheon Corporation for 40 years, where he excelled and received many awards for his patents.
Throughout his youth and into adulthood, he belonged to the North Reading Rifle Club. He will be missed by the many, many friends that he met along the way. He also owned a large farm in Parsonsfield, Maine, and after his retirement, he was able to spend many happy days cultivating prize winning blueberries, apples, and strawberries each summer to the delight of his family and his neighbors in Maine and in Andover.
He is survived by his brother, Mitchell A. Skinner, and many cousins.
Eddie lived his life on his own terms and brought out the very best in his family and friends. Upon his request there will be no calling hours. Donations may be made to the Cancer Center of America and Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
