Mr. Joseph's Story
ANDOVER: Mr. Joseph A. “Tony” Clinton, Jr., a resident of Derry, N.H., formerly of Andover, and beloved husband of the late Claire C. (Concannon) Clinton, passed away at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, N.H. on Monday, May 11, 2015. He was 85 years old.
Born in Springfield, Mass. on December 25, 1929, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Jenipher (Hood) Clinton. Mr. Clinton was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a graduate of Salem State College and had been employed by the U.S. Customs Service as well as the U.S. Postal Service for many years. In his spare time, Tony enjoyed traveling and exploring around the country. A well read person, he had a special love for history as well as the railroad and trains. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Sheila E. Clinton of Fairfax, Calif.; and grandson, Noah Matthew of Berkeley, Calif.
His funeral service will be celebrated in the Christ Church, 33 Central Street, Andover, on Monday, May 18, 2015, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, on Monday, prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to noon.
