Rose M. (Pedulla) Mesite, 90, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Friday, January 27, 2017 at her home in Andover. Born in Boston, Rose was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Pedulla, and the beloved wife of the late Joseph G. Mesite.
A 1944 graduate from the High School of Practical Arts in Cambridge, Rose went on to work a millinery buyer for Conrad’s Fashion Basement in Cambridge. After marrying Joe in 1952, she moved to Framingham where she worked for Dennison Manufacturing for a short time, before staying home to raise her four children. She went on to work for 27 years with the Framingham Food Service Noon Lunch Program, retiring in 1993 as the Manager of the Framingham North High School Lunch Program. For years she was an active parishioner at both St. George and St. Jeremiah Parishes, and was a member of the Golden Rays Retirees Group of St. Tarcisius Church, and the Cardiac Rehab Program at Metrowest Wellness Center.
Rose is survived by her four children, Joseph Jr. and his wife Wendy of Oxford, Vincent J. of Norton, Thomas J. and his wife, Hematie of Douglas, and Paula L. Bordogna and her husband Mark of Andover, eight grandchildren, Patricia, Steven, Monica, Joseph III, Timothy, Samuel, Hannah, and Amy, three great-grandchildren, her sister, Frances Meucci of Cambridge, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Rose was predeceased by her sister Florence Vargas.
Family and friends honored and remembered Rose’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham, on Monday, January 30th from 4 to 8 p.m. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. George’s Church, 74 School St. (Saxonville) Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery.
