Newburyport, MA - Anne Jane Reseigh Clough, aged 80, passed away on February 5th, 2020, at Avita of Newburyport.
Anne was born in Somerset, MA to Arthur S. Reseigh and Edna McKelvie Reseigh. She lived her entire life in Massachusetts other than a one-year sabbatical in England. She met her husband, Stuart B. Clough, at UMass Amherst where she received the top honors in her class.
Anne had a brilliant mind studying mathematics in college and in 1961 was an early computer programmer. She received a MS in Mathematics from UMass Lowell and a MS in Computer Programming from Boston University. She taught mathematics and computer science to college students for many years and subsequently worked as a computer engineer at Charles Stark Draper Laboratories for seventeen years.
Music was important throughout her entire life and she fondly remembered her high school days in the band and choir. She played the piano and the organ, the clarinet and the saxophone. In church she sometimes played the organ and always sang in the choir.
Anne was a devoted member of South Church Andover, singing with the choir for many decades. She combined her love of learning with her spiritual depth, receiving a Masters in Psychology from Andover Newton Seminary.
Anne enjoyed her life immensely and had a special joy for, and love of children. After retiring, she volunteered in the Andover School system and at Neighbors in Need. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the world, spending time with her friends, and most of all being with her grandchildren.
Anne was a wonderfully loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was loved so dearly by her husband and family. Her legacy of love has spread into a wide family tree. She is survived by her three children and their families. Elizabeth Clough and Steve Jungmann of Andover, Christine and Derek Roberts of Brentwood, NH, and Jonathan Clough and Kathleen Dempsey of Warren, VT. her nine grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Fiona, Claire, Aidan, Gwyneth, Grace, Rowan and Eva will miss her very much.
The family has so much gratitude for the wonderful staff at Avita of Newburyport, where she continued to enjoy life and received much love and care for the final 2 1/2 years of her life.
Donations in Anne's name may be made to the Employee Fund at Avita of Newburyport, 4 Wallace Bashaw Junior Way, Newburyport, MA 01950. A memorial service will be held at South Church in Andover on February 29th at 11 a.m.

Many memories , particularly over the last 10 yrs or so, sharing lunch or dinner and talking about ‘ our children and grandchildren ‘ having a lot of laughter sharing our stories of Derek and Chris and their ‘dating years ‘...just a lot of love and joy.Anne never lost her sweetness and caring even through the bleak years.
