Andover - Bevolyn Edith (Syvertsen) Oliver born May 7, 1933, passed away at 92 peacefully on Nov 2, 2025. She was 92 years of age.

She was born in Rosebank, Staten Island, New York. She graduated from Havertown High School, Haverton PA in 1950. She went on to graduate from Ursinus College in Collegeville PA in 1954 with

a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education. She was a star athlete on both the field hockey team and the swim team. She excelled in her academics, as well, and was offered a Fulbright

Scholarship.

As a working mother, she earned a Master's degree in education from Springfield College, in 1981.

Her professional career started as a teacher in CA. After moving back east, she became a volunteer for the aquatics and gymnastics programs at the Wakefield YMCA, and later the Andover North Andover YMCA. She became the Fitness Director at the Andover North Andover YMCA, building a successful gymnastics program. Her professional tract then shifted to ski racing. She developed the Mighty Mites ski program at the Waterville Valley Ski Resort, then was the iii, iv, v alpine racing program director for WVBBTS. She served on numerous committees with alpine ski racing in New Hampshire, as well as the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. She enjoyed success with all the programs she touched. She truly loved to teach children.

She met her husband, late Peter Oliver, on a white-water canoe trip and they were married for over 50 years.

They were very active and shared many outdoor passions together. Their adventures included hiking, canoeing, wind surfing, cycling, skiing and horseback riding.

Bev was an extremely talented seamstress (making sails, tents, sleeping bags, down clothing, drapes) knitter, basket weaver, and cook. There was no stopping her once she got started on a project.

Bev is survived by her sister Merle, her children, Kristin St. Clair (and husband Brett), Kurt Oliver (and wife Michelle), Kara Hubbard (and husband Taylor) as well as two granddaughters, Ella and Grace.

A celebration of Bev's life is being planned for the Spring, with details to follow.
