ANDOVER - With great sadness, we announce the passing of Helen Edwards, 88, on April 22, 2021.
Helen passed peacefully with the loving support of her family. A longtime resident of Andover, Helen was born in Saskatchewan, Canada to the late William and Angelia Kosteniuk. She began her career in nursing in Alaska and Ohio, and retired after 18 years as a recovery room unit coordinator at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass.
Her passions included reading, gardening, knitting and hunting for treasures at the flea market. She also enjoyed volunteering at the American Textile History Museum in Lowell. Perhaps her greatest joy was being "Nana" to her amazing grandchildren whom she was extremely proud.
Helen is survived by two children, Sandra Gillman who resides with her husband James in Andover, and David Edwards who resides with his wife, Mary Beth in Newburyport; and four grandchildren, Sydney and Olivia Gillman, and Natalie and Ryan Edwards.
She was an amazing person who loved an adventure and a good hard day's work, which she would tell you builds character.
Private family services will be held at a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Driscoll Funeral Home, Haverhill. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com.
