Andover, MA - Maximillian "Max" Durham, born October 27, 1999, passed away at home on Saturday, December 7. Max fought a courageous battle with mental health difficulties and addiction. He was 20.
Max's passions were many. He was an avid hiker and skier, skiing with his brother and father in the White Mountains, out west, and France. Max skateboarded, bicycled and baked Christmas cookies. Recently, he had discovered painting. He loved to surf at York beach. Max adored his brother, bro, to no end. He nurtured and loved his border collie Sky.
Max is survived by his parents, Mary and Andrew Durham and his brother Alexander; grandparents, Susan and Chris Durham; Aunts Debbie, Kelly, Patty Elena, Andrea and Peggy and Uncles Keith, Badri, Ski and Chris along with several cousins. He also leaves behind his spiritual grandmother and grandfather, Eileen Manning and Stanley Zajechowski.
Max had his heart set on attending Champlain College in the spring.

My dear, most caring family, the Durham, my heart is broken for our loss .... Your children were a true example of love, caring and respect... I think about this wonderful grandson every day. My wife and I are hoping to contribute something significant to the Appalachian Mountain Club. Max loved climbing mountains

My heart hurts for you Mary. I will always treasure the times that Jacob Max Alex and Thomas went to the park when they were small. Only the ones with the biggest hearts Go to heaven so young!

I am so sorry for your loss although I am a mother who lost a son too ,I have no words to easy your pain ,but I can tell you I know what you are getting through. My thoughts are with both of you . I remember Max younger at Elena’s home a lovely boy that time .
