Mr. Richard E. Piercy
Born in Lawrence, on March 2, 1949, he was the beloved son of the late William George and Dorothy (Monro) Piercy. Richard was a graduate of the Northeast Institute of Electrical Technology in Boston. He had been employed as an electrician by the Dean Construction Company in Virginia and formerly of the Griffin Electric in Massachusetts and Ray's Electric in North Conway, New Hampshire. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club. He also was an avid coin collector and loved looking for antiques and artwork. Above all, Richard was very devoted to his siblings and nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving siblings; Janyce R. Ball of Andover, Ethel M. and her husband John Golden of Leesburg, Virginia, Dorothy "Dee" and her husband Mark DeLorenzo of Tewksbury, niece and nephews; Cynthia and her husband Leonard Paolillo of Belmont, Michael J. O'Neill of Virginia, Michael W. and his wife, Traci Connor of Andover, Sean D. and his wife, Trish of Methuen, Nicholas W. and his wife, Kerri Fitzpatrick of North Andover, Christopher M. and his wife, Jeanne DeLorenzo of Quincy and Anthony G. and his wife, Shaina DeLorenzo of Beverly. He was also the brother of the late Lynda J. Fitzpatrick.
Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street on Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Interment will follow the calling hours in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover. Donations in Richard's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451 or to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
