Andover - Andover - Paul Keith Korzeniewski, 69, formerly of Sudbury, Revere and Chelsea, peacefully passed away in his home on October 11, 2025 at the age of 69.
Beloved son of the late Virginia and Edward Korzeniowski, Paul is survived by his two children, David Korzeniowski of Seattle, Washington and Mary Korzeniowski of Clinton – as well as his sister, Diane Korzeniowski of Revere.
Paul lived his life with boundless energy, a dry sense of humor, and an outgoing nature that made it easy for him to connect with the people around him. He cherished his family, his friends, his Catholic faith, and his Polish heritage. A lifelong sports fan, Paul cheered for all of Boston's teams – especially the Celtics – as well as Notre Dame athletics.
Paul showed academic promise from an early age. After attending public school in Chelsea, he attended Boston College High School on a full academic scholarship. There, he joined the swim team and made lifelong friends that he kept in touch with regularly, and in 2024 he attended his 50th reunion with many of them. Following high school, Paul attended the University of Notre Dame, which became a second home and a huge part of his identity throughout his life. He met some of his best friends at Notre Dame, including his best man and his son's namesake, David Bender. Paul majored in American Studies while also studying Greek and working at the university's radio station, WSND. In his senior year, the Irish won a national championship in football led by quarterback Joe Montana, and the basketball team made the Final Four.
Paul's first job out of college was as an associate district executive of the Boston council of the Boy Scouts of America. He had previously earned the rank of Eagle Scout and wanted to give back. Throughout his wide-ranging career as a writer, editor, teacher, and college professor, Paul connected with his coworkers and students with a balance of professionalism, congeniality, and good humor.
Paul lived his life to the fullest. An avid outdoorsman, he regularly ran, hiked, skied, swam, danced, and stayed active. He would constantly comment on the beauty of God's creation and marvel at passing storm clouds or a colorful sunset. With his warm and affable energy, Paul made friends easily – whether they were neighbors in his condominium building or strangers he was meeting for the first time through one of his many social groups.
Above all, Paul was devoted to his family. He loved his two children and his sister more than anything in his life. He will be greatly missed.
Paul was interred at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett during a private ceremony. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Paul's Memorial Mass at St. Columbkille Parish, 321 Market St., Brighton on Thursday, October 30th at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture, 520 Flanner Hall, Notre Dame, IN 46656
